Taking Part

As well as our programme of professional events, Taliesin appreciates the enormous impact that taking part in the arts can have on people's lives. We try hard to provide opportunities, in particular for younger people, to participate in workshops. Join a master class with a world-class musician, attend a dance workshop with a professional company or ask that burning question in one of our regular Q&A with reputed guests. Keep regularly an eye on our website for up-to-date information on our workshops.

Every year, a number of events organised and led by Swansea University’s Performing Arts Societies, the University Dance Society and Swansea University Creative Writing MA students take place on stage at Taliesin. This year you can look forward to:

This is a huge event for the students, bringing professional actors to perform extracts from the work of these talented emerging writers, directed by Prof. David Britton.

Alongside these University Societies, support and performances opportunities are being given every year by Taliesin to younger students like:

  • The Neath Port Talbot College through LIFT, the official dance company of NPTC Group of Colleges
  • The County Youth Dance Company
  • Over 200 primary pupils from 5 or 6 primary schools across Swansea, brought together with a professional choreographer and Contemporary Dance students from Gorseinon College for our Primary Dance Project.
  • Swansea College of Art also utilise Taliesin, for example to put on the degree shows for graduating Film and Video students.
