Taliesin Live - Ignorance

This performance has audience participation.

What would it be like - if you’d never actually seen the sky but had only heard about it in stories? Imagine if you had never walked in long grass or heard real thunder; if you’d never smelled the summer breeze roll inland off the sea. What if you’d never met a stranger or stroked a dog or had never been caught out in the rain and what if all you really knew of the outside was what you’d been told by people who’d been there? And what if those people had lied? What would it be like - if you didn’t know anything for certain, if you didn’t know anything at all?

Innovative theatre maker Gerald Tyler and final year students from the Centre for Contemporary Performance Practices at UWTSD Swansea, continue the tradition of the Unknown Pleasures project with an attempt to stage a non ironic “full fat” sci-fi theatre performance. Audience capacity is limited, and there will be some standing on the stage (for those who are able) and it’s just possible that an actor might “touch” you.

From an original idea developed in collaboration with Volcano Theatre; Unknown Pleasures is a joint venture between Taliesin Arts Centre and the Centre for Contemporary Performance Practices at University of Wales Trinity Saint David bringing together Wales’ finest artists and its best emerging talent.
