Dir: Sara Sugarman
2022 Wales 1hr 49mins
Jonathan Pryce, Samantha Morton, Tom Felton

Story by Welsh writer Lorraine King about the campaign to save a local cinema in Carmarthen
in the 1990s. Liz runs the local youth opera at her community’s Lyric Theatre. Mayor Tom
(still holding a grudge from unrequited young love) has plans to tear down the Lyric and turn
it into a shopping centre. Liz, with the help of her comrades, mount a campaign to save the
cinema.

'Excitement for the film has been rife in Carmarthen since hordes of production trucks arrived in the town back in January. Parts of the town were closed off while filming took place, and a section of King Street was transformed to look like the early 1990s, when the film is set.'  WalesOnline
