Photos of Swansea before and after the blitz are shown, which would make anyone wonder how life could ever be the same for the inhabitants of the city. But wonderful things can happen when communities come together. The city was rebuilt from the rubble, and people are seen working hard to make Swansea what it used to be, with a modern twist. National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales preserves and celebrates the sound and moving image heritage of Wales, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Its film collection reflects every aspect of the nation’s social, cultural and working life across the 20th century.
Little White Lies (15)
Dir: Caradog W James
UK 2006 1hr 26mins

This BAFTA award winning bleak comedy tells the story of a family living in fear of their country being overtaken by Islam. Mum Karen attempts to hold the family together but has her work cut out: daughter Serena no longer speaks to her layabout father as he hates the fact that she has fallen in love with an Indian man, while son Steve is a closet racist.
“The Royle Family meets Nil by Mouth... one of the best British films I’ve seen in years... brilliant acting, very dark yet extremely funny!” THE INDEPENDENT
