Black Lives Matter

A follow up on the Black Lives Matter statement we made last year

The murder of George Floyd continues to reverberate across society. Since our statement in August last year, we have been working to embed action to support equality, diversity and greater inclusion across the work we do and with our community at Taliesin Arts Centre.

We remain committed to change. It is our desire to be the most inclusive, open and most positively future-focused space for audiences, artists, staff and students of Swansea University.

Some of the actions we have already taken are: signing up to Zero Racism Wales; developing a new ‘Culture Council’ to support our strategic decision making and new policy development; and diversity training.

We are not there yet and there is a lot of work to do. We intend to update on our plan later in the summer with information about our new strategic plan and equalities action plan in order to play our part in eradicating racism.
