Love us or loathe us, men are everywhere. We have the habit of popping up, often unexpectedly, in your beds, wombs, wars, worst nightmares and fondest memories. We come for better, or for worse, in guises as disparate as drag artiste, soldier, priest and lover, yet apparently we all hail from Mars! No wonder being a man is problematic; it’s dangerous, pressured, ridiculous, often funny and sometimes tragic, but it’s also capable of being something beautiful.
Muscle is a richly textured, emotional rollercoaster of theatre, dance, music, film and animation inspired by extraordinary interviews with Welsh men and performed by an eclectic all male cast who also play the characters from Venus.
Fresh from winning the Royal Bank of Scotland ‘Herald Angel Award’ at the Edinburgh Festival 2011, Shock n Awe return with a revamped version of this groundbreaking production.
