Taliesin Arts Centre is at the heart of Swansea University's Singleton Campus. Open throughout the year, we host a broad programme of events including cinema screenings, an average of ten visiting exhibitions per year, and a great variety of live performances, from dance and drama to jazz and world music.

The emphasis here at Taliesin is on quality and innovation - providing a vital Taliesin external shot by Annalise Richterservice to both students and the people of Swansea and acting as a regional centre of excellence. As well as events within the building, recently, thanks to increased funding from the Wales Assembly Government and the Arts Council of Wales, we have begun to take our productions outside of the theatre, holding Dance Days, an annual festival in the city centre, and touring our own productions and co-productions to other venues across Wales & beyond.

In 2014 we celebrated our 30th birthday, having first opened in June 1984. Taliesin is named after the 6th century Celtic bard of the same name.

Taliesin also houses the Egypt Centre, a museum of Egyptian antiquities accredited by the MLA. Click here for further information about this free attraction.

The Great Hall

You can also book for events at Swansea University's newest venue via the Taliesin website. The iconic Great Hall is the legacy building provided by BP to Swansea University. The Hall is located at the centre of the Bay Campus and will provide a beautiful space for the University to host music concerts, conferences, and hold graduation and other large University events.
